I approached this illustration simply because I thought it would be incredibly challenging putting so many people into one composition.
I had noticed that the official posters split the characters into groups on five distinct posters, each with their own main highlight colour. I thought that breaking my composition down into those same groups and colours would help tie my illustration to the original posters.
The groups are actually loosely arranged within imaginary lines leading off of elements of the Avengers logo.
